Yahoo News has given new details of Lt Gen Qasem Soleimani's assassination, saying that agents from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and Israeli regime also cooperated in the operation.

Iran PressAmerica: Yahoo News in a report published on Saturday night gave new details of the US Jan 2020 operation to assassinate the late commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Lt Gen Qasem Soleimani.

Pointing to the extent of the cooperation between the US and the Israeli regime and Iraqi Kurdistan security officials, the report emphasized that the operation will affect the strategic position of the current US administration led by Joe Biden in the region in the coming years.

According to the report, 3 teams of Delta Force agents (US special operations force of the United States Army) monitored the area from Baghdad International Airport last January with their cameras, waiting for their target.

The report also says that Kurdish special forces trained by the US were also on the ground to assist in the operation.

"Based on interviews with 15 current and former US officials, the article pieces together the effort to assassinate Gen Qasem Soleimani, in the words of one anonymous CIA official. Multiple US military branches and intelligence agencies were involved, but so were Israeli special forces," the article claims.

Lt Gen Qasem Soleimani, former commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, former deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, and their companions were martyred outside Baghdad International Airport last January on the direct order of the former US President Donald Trump.
