Spokesman for the Iranian Parliament National Security Commission Hossein Naghavi Hosseini

The Spokesman for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Hossein Naghavi Hosseini has said regional countries must resolve their problems through negotiations and do not need US intervention.

Iran Press/Iran news: Naghavi Hosseini emphasized on the need to reduce tensions in the region and resolving regional problems, adding: "All tensions and disputes between countries in the region can be resolved through negotiations and must not lead to conflict and military intervention."

He went on to add that Americans and Europeans sell billions of dollars worth of weaponry to the Persian Gulf states, which has a destabilizing effect in the region, reported Iran Press.

He also referred to the Saudi-led intervention in Yemen, noting: "Saudi Arabia has suffered a lot of losses, and incurred huge costs, without achieving any results."

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

However, Saudi Arabia has been unable to reach its goals in Yemen after more than four years of killing thousands of civilians and destroying Yemen's infrastructure. 203/211
