Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Gaza has become a graveyard for children due to the ongoing bombardment by the oppressive Israeli regime.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a post on his X account for International Children’s Day, he wrote, “November 20, International Children’s Day, serves as a reminder of every child's right to live in peace and security. This occasion also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the suffering of the children in Gaza.”

He remarked that Gaza has turned into a graveyard for children due to the continuous bombardment by the Israeli regime. He stated, "Over 17,000 Palestinian children have been killed in a year. Thousands more have gone missing, tens of thousands have been injured, and hundreds have undergone amputations without anesthesia."

More than 35,000 children have been orphaned, and many of them have lost all their family members.

Nearly 4,000 children have died from hunger, and many others are at risk due to hunger, disease, displacement, and lack of necessities.

According to the Special Rapporteur on Palestinian human rights, Francesca Albanese, hundreds of Palestinian children and teenagers have been kidnapped and held hostage by the Israeli regime each year for several decades.

The killing and torture of innocent Palestinian children have deeply wounded the conscience of humanity. The inaction and indifference of responsible human rights institutions and the United Nations feel like salt poured on these wounds, hindering the healing process, the spokesman noted.

It is time for the world to put an end to the impunity of those who commit heinous crimes against innocent Palestinian children, Baghaei added.
