Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi concluded his official visit to Pakistan, emphasizing a strong alignment between Tehran and Islamabad on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing pressing regional issues. In particular, both nations share a united stance on the need to halt Israeli actions in Gaza and Lebanon, reduce regional tensions, and support Palestinian rights.

Iran PressAsia:  In an interview with IRNA on Tuesday night, Araghchi highlighted the central takeaway of his visit: Iran and Pakistan's unified approach to mutual relations and regional matters. "The firm stance of Pakistan’s government and people in support of Palestine and against Israeli aggression is commendable, and we are in full agreement on these issues," he said.

During his meetings with top Pakistani officials — including Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif — Araghchi discussed a range of bilateral and regional topics, stressing joint action at international platforms such as the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit.

Araghchi noted that both nations are especially aligned on counter-terrorism efforts, as terrorism remains a significant challenge for the neighboring countries. He expressed optimism for expanding cooperation across economic, security, and cultural fields, acknowledging that current ties fall short of the expectations of both governments.

The Iranian Foreign Minister further disclosed plans for ongoing engagements between Iranian and Pakistani officials in economic, security, and cultural domains, with continuous political dialogues to follow. Reflecting on the outcomes of the trip, he voiced confidence that the discussions would bolster the work of Iran’s embassy in Islamabad and aid future diplomatic initiatives.

In a concluding gathering at Iran’s embassy in Islamabad, Araghchi met with prominent Pakistani intellectuals, engaging in discussions on the latest developments in bilateral relations and regional concerns.
