Iran Press/ Asia: Iran’s deputy foreign minister for political affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, visited this country in a bid to discuss and exchange views on various bilateral, regional, and international issues and further promote relations with Thailand.
Earlier, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and with the agreement of the Hamas, a group of Thai prisoners were released in Gaza.
Bagheri Kani, in a press conference at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bangkok, referring to Iran's concern about the fate of foreign prisoners, especially Thai people in Gaza, said that this issue is on the agenda of Iran's foreign minister's trip to Lebanon and Qatar.
After the press conference, Iran's deputy foreign minister met with high-ranking Thai officials, including the speaker of the National Assembly, deputy prime minister and foreign minister, head of the National Security Council.
In these meetings, the parties pointed to the friendly and long relations between the two countries during the past four centuries and emphasized the need to expand relations as much as possible in all fields, especially in the economic and tourism fields.
