Tehran (IP)- The Iranian Foreign Minister called for the shore-up of Tehran-Stockholm relations mingled with the pragmatism of the two governments.

Iran PressIran News: In a telephone conversation on Friday, Iranian FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Swedish FM Tobias Billström talked about the issues of mutual interests and international topics. 

Amir-Abdollahian said that in recent years, some issues affected the relations between the two countries, which were mainly the result of the interference of a third party.

He told his Swedish counterpart that the Islamic Republic of Iran always welcomed dialogue and cooperation with the EU. 

FM Amir-Abdollahian referred to the case of Hamid Nouri and the attempts made by the MKO to exacerbate the Tehran-Stockholm ties and called on the Swedish government to release the innocent Iranian citizen in prison.

Hamid Nouri, 61, an Iranian citizen, was arrested by Sweden's security forces on November 9, 2019, upon his arrival to Sweden to follow up on family issues.

According to the Judiciary source, Nouri does not have access to an ophthalmologist to examine his eyes, his communication with his family is severely limited, and even he has been denied the right to study.

Billström expressed regret over Nouri's case and its negative impact on the relations between the two countries and said that he would seriously pursue the case.

He also called for Iran's cooperation in the settlement of the cases of a number of Swedish nationals in Iran.
