One of Kabul police officers expressed regret that his compatriots were killed during the joyful moment of Persian New Year or Nowruz.
" Today the enemies of Afghan people, once again, shed the blood of our fellow-citizen, compatriots and beloved ones and the target that the attackers had identified for explosion, was a ceremony for Nowruz celebrations (Persian New Year) ", said a local Afghan Police officer.
"We were going to our home, when the explosion happened behind us. We could not figure out what happened at the moment",said one of the injured survivors of the explosion.
"The explosion occured behind us, the mutilated bodies of the dead, including my mother, were scatterd on the street", another eyewitness of the explosion said.
The Daesh terror group claimed responsibility for an explosion in Afghanistan capital Kabul on Wednesday which left at least 26 people killed and 18 others wounded .
