Tehran (IP) - The head of the Iran and UAE Chamber of Commerce announced that the return of the ambassadors would promise good economic events for the two countries and the region.

Iran PressIran News: In an interview with Iran Press News Agency, Erfan Shakeri added that the long-standing cultural and historical relations between Iran and the UAE have an important impact on the development of economic relations between the two countries.

"Relations have had ups and downs in the past, but both sides have tried to develop them, especially in the economic sector," Shakeri noted.

Shakeri said that with the return of the UAE ambassador to Iran, businessmen, economic activists, diplomatic officials, and commercial advisers of the country will also be in Iran and follow up on business affairs.

The head of the Iran and UAE Chamber of Commerce emphasized that due to the resources and capacities available in Iran, including human resources, Iran can cooperate with the UAE and export its goods and services to other countries.

Shakeri noted that with the return of the UAE ambassador to Iran, signing economic agreements, joint investments, and banking cooperation would have significant development.

He emphasized that Iran has good opportunities for trade with the UAE. For example, currently, Iran is one of the leading exporters of food and agricultural products to the UAE.

The UAE Ambassador to Tehran Saif Al Zaabi resumed his diplomatic activities in Iran in mid-September after a six-year gap.

The UAE recalled its ambassador in 2016 following Saudi Arabia’s decision to sever ties with Iran in the wake of protests in Tehran in which demonstrators stormed the Saudi embassy in Tehran after the kingdom executed an influential Shia cleric and dozens of other pro-democracy activists.
