Iran Press/ Europe: Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called on the three European powers to fulfill their obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.
According to Articles 26 and 36 of the JCPOA, if Iran or any other member of the deal feels like another party is not meeting its commitments, they can refer the issue to the Joint Commission for resolution.
Iran took a further step back from its commitments to the JCPOA by announcing on Jan. 6 that it would scrap limits on enriching uranium, though it said it would continue cooperating with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Iran's action came in response to US President Donald Trump's decision to pull the US out of the nuclear deal in May 2018, and to impose 'maximum pressure' sanctions that have crippled Iran's economy.

"Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis between the United States and Iran," the three European countries’ foreign ministers said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
"We have also undertaken and support diplomatic efforts, such as France’s initiative, to deescalate tensions and to bring Iran and the US to the negotiating table for a comprehensive negotiated solution. The EU3 remains fully committed to this diplomatic effort and intends to resume it as soon as conditions allow," the ministers noted.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a follow-up tweet, called on the three European powers -France, Germany, and the UK- to stop bowing to the US' diktat and rather 'muster the courage' to fulfill their obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
"For 20 months, the EU3-following UK appeasement policy-has bowed to US diktat. That hasn't gotten it anywhere-and it never will. EU3 can save JCPOA but not by appeasing the bully & pressuring the complying party. Rather it should muster the courage to fulfill its own obligations," he wrote.
