EU concerned over violation of Palestinian children\'s rights

The European Union (EU) is concerned about the violation of Palestinian children's rights by the Zionist regime.

Iran PressEurope: On the occasion of International Children’s Day, the EU Missions in Beit ul-Muqaddas announced on Thursday that excessive use of force by the Zionist regime has led to the death of 16 Palestinian children in the first quarter of 2019.

The statement emphasized the need to comply with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, adding: "We are concerned about the use of Israeli force, including the use of lethal weapons, against the Palestinians."

The EU Missions also emphasized that in line with Article 37 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Palestinian children must not be unlawfully or arbitrarily detained, and must not be subjected to torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said in a report on the occasion of the International Children's Day (November 20) that Zionist forces had arrested 745 Palestinian children from the beginning of 2019 to the end of October.

The Zionist Cabinet has approved and enforced the punishment of Palestinian children under 14 with a 20-year prison sentence.

So far, human rights organizations and child rights defenders have not reacted to the laws.
