Iran Press/ Europe: Maja Kocijancic, a spokeswoman for the European Commission, said Monday the European Union is still committed to JCPOA, even as it continues to collapse following the US President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the agreement.
Maja Kocijancic, a spokeswoman for the European Commission, said Monday that the deal “is a matter of our security, not just the region or Europe but globally.”
This is while, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi had warned Europeans on October 24, ahead of the 60-day deadline, that if Iran's interests were not met, a fourth step would be implemented.
Since the first anniversary of the US withdrawal from JCPOA on May 8, 2018, and after European parties failed to meet Iran's interests without the United States, Iran has gradually taken steps to reduce its commitments to JCPOA every two months.
Referring to paragraphs 26 and 36 of the agreement, Iran has begun to reduce its commitments and has taken three steps so far.
Tehran has warned that if the other parties do not take practical action to meet Iran's interests within the next few days, Iran's fourth step will be implemented.
