Tehran (IP) - Iran's ambassador to Türkiye said the volume of non-oil trade between Iran and Türkiye has grown significantly in the past year.

Iran PressIran News: On the eve of the 7th meeting of the Supreme Council on the relations between Iran and Türkiye with the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Tehran, Mohammad Farazmand said: Before the pandemic and the new and unfair US sanctions against Iran, the volume of trade between Iran and Türkiye had reached 20 billion dollars per year, but due to the elimination of oil exports to Türkiye, the volume of trade decreased in 2019 and 2020.

Farazmand added: Despite the omission of oil from Iran's trade basket with Türkiye, the volume of trade between the two countries in 2021 will return to the level before 2019, and if oil, electricity, and other petroleum products are added, the volume of trade will be closer to the target point.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to travel to Tehran to participate in the 7th meeting of the Supreme Council of Iran-Türkiye Relations, and bilateral cooperation documents will be signed between the two countries.
