Tehran (IP): CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization, Peyman Eshqi, at the on line news conference said despite the world's countries that preferred to decrease blood donation Iran continued to act within standards and blood reserves remained stable as the donation indicators say.

Iran PressIran News: CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization, Peyman Eshqi, said at an online press conference attended by a number of journalists  that  During the Corona crisis all over the world, the demand for blood decreased and blood donation further decreased.

Eshqi went on to elaborate that in Iran during Nowruz, the amount of blood request compared to last year decreased by about 5%. However, he also said that blood donation was reduced by 20%.

“But in some developed countries, blood donations have dropped by as much as 75 percent and jeopardized security," added Eshqi.

Eshqi stressed that despite all this Iran went ahead with the same standard, saying that the Islamic blood reserves remained stable as the donation indicators suggest.
