Iran Press/ Iran News: "Ongoing medical sanctions, as well as war and bloodshed, are the common features of KSA and USA. Iran supports the entire Yemeni nation," the Special Aide on International Affairs of the Iran's Parliament Speaker and Former Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian tweeted on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Head of Yemen’s Supreme Revolutionary Committee Mohammed Ali al-Houthi called on the UN and its Security Council to act for stopping the Saudi coalition’s war on Yemen so that it could counter the coronavirus outbreak.
Hours after his request, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a message: "Today I am calling for an immediate global ceasefire in all corners of the world."
"It is time to put the armed conflict on lockdown and focus together on the true fight of our lives – the COVID-19 pandemic," he stressed.
Yemen is of the few countries where coronavirus has not spread, yet it is coping with such diseases as cholera, canine influenza, and diphtheria.
The UN has stressed on supplying clean water in Yemen to prevent coronavirus from entering the country.
