Deputy Minister of Architecture and Urban Development said that Iran cities need a new generation of development projects, and previous designs do not meet the needs of our cities today, so with the help of businesses and universities, we are introducing a new approach of planning.

Iran Press/ Iran News- In a press conference today, Mohammad Saeed Izadi, Deputy Minister of Architecture and Urban Development, said: "After three decades, we have developed a "comprehensive plan of land" through the joint action of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Management and Planning Organization of Iran.

Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development added: "Over the past year, we have been trying to allocate at least 50 percent of the issues discussed by the High Council for Urban Planning to urban policy, and fortunately we were able to approve important issues in this council:

"We have a resolution in the High Council for Urban Planning that outlines regenerating quantity and quality of rivers, and emphasises the protection of this wealth and vital resource in the cities", Mohammad Saeed Izadi noted.

"We have a resolution on addressing climate capacity in urban development projects, and a resolution on the gender equity approach in urban development plans", Deputy Minister of Architecture and Urban Development said.

"And in the High Council for Urban Planning, we also have a resolution on identifying major buildings in urban development projects", Mohammad Saeed Izadi added.

"Our cities need a new generation of development projects, and previous designs do not meet the needs of our cities today, so with the help of businesses and universities, we are introducing a new approach that has 5 pilot sites in cities like Isfahan, Natanz, Sanandaj and two other cities", Izadi said.

He also said that: "as long as nobody asks the government, he does not see himself accountable, so we strive to promote dialogue culture by holding meetings and creating groups on social networks; that is why we created the "house of discussion" in Gorgan and Kerman, like Tehran and we hope that in the near future all cities will have the "house of discussion", where media and professionals can freely question about what's happening in the cities and oblige government to respond.
