Nigeria (IP) - Followers and supporters of Ahlulbayt from different walks of life and organizations in Nigeria celebrated the Eid al- Ghadir on Sunday.

Iran PressAfrica: A senior member of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) and the representative of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the Leader of the IMN, in the northwestern state of Katsina, Sheikh Yaqoub Yahaya led the celebrations, delivering lectures at the Centre of the Islamic activities.

In the North Eastern part, followers of Ahlulbayt celebrated the Eid al-Ghadir at Madrasatu Sumayya Bauchi.

Also in Bauchi State, hundreds of people gathered at Husainiyyatu Alu Muhammad, where poets and singers sang songs in praise of Imam Ali (as) with Sheikh Ahmad Yusuf Yashi, a top cleric in the state delivering lectures on the occasion.  

After his last Hajj pilgrimage on 18 of Dhul-Hijja of the year 10 after the Hijira, the Holy Prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) halted the large caravan of Muslims who attended the Hajj ritual at Ghadir Khum, located between Makkah and Madinah, in order to appoint Ali bin Abi Talib (AS) as His successor.
