Presidential candidate:

Tehran (IP)- A candidate of the 13th Presidential Election in Iran says the economic structure is inflationary and needs changes.

Iran PressIran News: In an interview with IRIB on Sunday night, Abdolnaser Hemmati said the connections between fiscal and monetary policy, budget deficit, and reduction of foreign exchange earnings are inflationary.

Inflation depends on two factors, namely: 'economic structure and sanctions', Hemmati noted.

Hemmati also added: "In the last three decades, the average inflation rate has been 20%; I have a solution to reform the economic structure if I am elected."

The presidential hopeful stated: "39 countries now have single-digit inflation. We need the fiscal and monetary policy to be reformed to get there, and the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) must be completely independent."

Sanctions are another cause of inflation, Hemmati says, adding that his priority is to lift sanctions.

One of the reasons for the inflation in recent years has been the decline in the country's foreign exchange earnings, which can cause inflation.
