Tehran (IP) - Reacting to the third anniversary of US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran’s Foreign Minister tweeted that 3 years ago a disgraced buffoon violated US obligations under JCPOA & UNSCR 2231.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press, Mohammad Javad Zarif in his latest tweet released on Saturday wrote: “As we try to revive JCPOA in Vienna, it's necessary to remember how it all started.”

Referring to Donal Trump’s administration withdrawal from the JCPOA on May 8, 2021, he added: "3 years ago today, a disgraced buffoon violated US obligations under JCPOA & UNSCR 2231.”

He also went on to emphasize: "Onus is on the US, not Iran."

Iran's FM concluded: “Today, US President Joe Biden has to decide whether the US continues lawlessness or adheres to the law."

With the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, and Washington's action in violation of its obligations, the Islamic Republic of Iran suspended some of JCPOA's obligations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has stated that it will return to its commitments when the United States lifts all anti-Iranian sanctions in practice and that the lifting of sanctions is going to be verified by Iran.
