Yerevan (IP) - The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran said that the signing of the Agarak-Kajaran road contract as a part of the North-South corridor is in the interest of Iran, Armenia, and the countries of the region.

Iran PressAsia: In an interview with Iran Press in Yerevan, Mehrdad Bazarpash emphasized the importance of operationalizing the Agarak-Kajaran road and stated that the participation of an Iranian company in the important infrastructure project of Armenia shows that Iran's technical and engineering services have been exported to the countries of the region.

Bazerpash added that this project will connect the Black Sea to the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea and will play an important role in completing the North-South Corridor.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran said that with the completion of various sections of the Agarak-Kajaran road, the North-South corridor will be more prosperous and will provide Iran's access to Armenia and other countries in the region, as well as Armenia's access to the countries in the south, and will contribute greatly to the economy of the region and It has two countries.

Iran's minister visited Yerevan on Monday at the invitation of Armenia's Minister of Regional Management and Infrastructure Ganel Sanusyan to participate in the signing ceremony of the Agarak-Kajaran road contract.

Iran welcomed the proposal to build a second bridge over the Aras River at the Nordouz Border to increase transit between Iran and Armenia.
