Damascus (IP) - The Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran said that student exchange between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria gives more consistency and strength to the depth of the relations between the two countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: Universities of Iran and Syria cooperate in order to develop cooperation in the fields of science and research, exchange of professors and students, teaching Persian and Arabic languages, as well as training in various advanced medical and pharmaceutical fields, biological sciences, stem cells, laser technologies, organ transplantation, etc.

The Iranian academic delegation consisting of the deputy ministers of science, research, technology and health, treatment and medical education along with the presidents of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, University of Isfahan, Allameh Tabataba'i University and Imam Khomeini International University (IKIU) in Qazvin on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Damascus University by attending the president's office of the university, while congratulating the president, the vice presidents and professors of this university, examined the ways of cooperation in order to improve the academic research level of the two countries.

Hashem Dadashpour, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology and Head of the Student Affairs Organization, emphasized the full readiness to promote scientific and research cooperation between Iranian and Syrian universities, and the importance of trying to increase scholarships for the Syrian side. He also stressed the creation of joint research projects.

Mohammed Osama al-Jaban, President of Damascus University, also appreciated the presence of the Iranian academic delegation in Syria and said: "Damascus University, with its hundred years of history, is scientifically approved by the prestigious universities of the region and the world, and has previously had many collaborations with the universities of the Islamic Republic in the field of professor-student exchange and joint scientific fields."
