The deadly California wildfires have burned over 1 million acres -- and there's no end in sight as thousands of firefighters struggle to contain the blazes and more emerge as the US President Donald Trump issued a statement declaring that there is a major disaster in the state of California and approving a disaster declaration for the state.

Iran PressAmerica: Following continuous wildfire, the US President issued a statement declaring that there is a great catastrophe in the state of California and ordered continued federal assistance to help control fires in state, tribal, and local areas.

The blaze has so far killed at least six people and injured 43 firefighters and civilians, and has doubled in extent.

So far, more than 500 residential units have been destroyed by fire and large areas of forest have been destroyed.

A column of dense smoke scattered in the air, reducing air quality by hundreds of miles around the fire area, endangering the health of residents around the fire and forced thousands to flee their homes, and many stay indoors.

On the other hand, medical experts have warned that the outbreak of the coronavirus poses significant health risks to people exposed to smoky weather and extreme heat, especially for the elderly and those suffering from respiratory problems.

The fire also destroyed hundreds of Redwood's famous giant trees.
