Coronavirus postpones Syrian parliamentary elections for 2nd time

Middle East (IP) - Syria's parliamentary elections have been postponed for another two months as a precautionary measure in the fight against the coronavirus.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday, May 7, postponed the Syrian parliamentary elections, which was scheduled for May 20, to July 19, 2020, for another two months, in order to fight the coronavirus.

Earlier, the country's third parliamentary election, scheduled for April 11, was postponed until May 20 as part of a precautionary measure against COVID-19 in Syria.

Syrian parliamentary elections are held every four years.
