Iran Press/ Iran news: Following a terrorist attack on a police station in Zahedan city, the capital of Sistan and Baluchistan province, Southeast of Iran, on Friday, the Iranian security and law enforcement responded quickly, and the terrorist attack at Friday prayers neutralized.
According to Hussein Modarres Khiabani, the Governor of Sistan and Baluchistan province, the number of casualties in this incident is 21 dead and 20 injured.
In the Friday heavy clashes, Seyyed Ali Mousavi, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC) intelligence commander of Sistan and Baluchistan Province, was martyred while on duty to protect people's lives.
IRGC Salman Base, in a statement on Saturday, vowed a solid response to the terrorist attack on Iranian forces.
The noble and martyr-fostering people of Zahedan, after the end of Zahedan Friday prayers, witnessed the bitter incident of attack of the armed terrorists affiliated with the Global Arrogance and mercenaries of 'Jaish Al-Noor on several police and military bases and subsequently the terrible shooting to the people on streets and public thoroughfares in the city which led to the killing of several separatist terrorists and the injury of several security, military, and law enforcement forces and several citizens, the statement reads.
Moreover, the Deputy Intelligence of Salman Base of the IRGC in the southern province of Sistan and Baluchestan Brigadier-General Seyyed Hamidreza Hashemi was martyred after sustaining severe injury in a confrontation with the criminal terrorists, according to the statement.
The Salman Base of the IRGC announced that its forces and other powerful intelligence, security, and policy sections would respond strongly against mercenaries who try to sow discord and commit crimes.
Following a terrorist attack on a police station in Zahedan earlier on Friday, an armed group gathered near the Makki mosque and started shooting, prompting security forces to get to the scene immediately.
