Damascus(IP) - The Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural week started in Syria.

Iran PressMiddle East: The cultural week of the Islamic Republic of Iran started on Wednesday night with the presence of Syrian Minister of Culture Lubanah Mshaweh, the Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Bashar al-Jaafari and senior syrian officials as well as Iranian officials and Iranians living in Syria.

Holding a specialized meeting of the people involved in the cultural affairs of the two countries, the lifestyle of the Iranian people, the screening of some Iranian films, various cultural workshops, including filmmaking, and the establishment of an exhibition of different cultural products of Iran, such as carpets, aiming at introducing Iranian culture to the Syrian people, are among the programs of Iran's cultural week is in Syria.

Mahdi Imanipour, Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Mahdi Sobhani, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria, and some officials of Iranian institutions based in Syria and a group of Iranians living in this country also attended the opening ceremony of Iran's cultural week in Syria.

The cultural week of Iran in Syria has been established in line with the cultural memoranda of understanding exchanged by the two countries aimed at developing relations, cultural interactions, expanding cultural and artistic ties, presenting the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran,, and introducing the new Islamic-Iranian civilization in Damascus.
