Damascus(IP) - The Iranian and Syrian Health Ministers signed a memorandum of understanding on health cooperation.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iran-Syria ties have become expanded after the defeat of the ISIS terrorist group in Syria, with a bright horizon of cooperation ahead. In the ceremony of signing the MoU in Damascus, Iran's Bahram Einollahi said the relations between the two countries' medical societies needed to be strengthened.

Einollahi said the signing of the health agreement of cooperation would be the beginning of significant developments in the area between the two countries.

The Syrian Minister of Health Hussein al-Ghabbash, for his part, called on further medical cooperation between Iran and Syria and the implementation of the agreement.

The agreement signed included improving research and development, medical and health services, drugs, and medical equipment areas. Syria was damaged partly during the invasion of the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in 2011, but thanks to Iran's military consultations and help, the terrorist group was defeated in 2017.
