Receiving a help message from an Iranian ship attacked by anonymous boats on Wednesday morning, Iran's Navy escort team rapidly arrived and clashed with the pirates in the Red Sea.

Iran PressIran news: The Commander of Iran's Navy Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said that after clashes and exchange of fire, the assaulters escaped the Red Sea region. 

"Following the new US joint naval alliance, we are witnessing an increase in piracy on this vital waterway," Admiral Irani pointed out. 

The crews of the assaulted boats are all safe and keeping their way to the destination.  

This is the second time this week that the Iranian Navy forces clashed with pirates in the international waters.
