Iran Press/ Asia: Shia and Sunni Muslims rallied in Lahore on International Al-Quds Day, chanting anti-Israel slogans, holding placards in support of the Palestinians, and holding pictures of Imam Khomeini, as well as the Iranian martyr Qasem Soleimani.
Javad Naqavi, Secretary-General of the Awakening Movement of the Ummah Mustafa (PBUH), announced on Friday evening during the Quds Day rally in Lahore that the Islamic Ummah must unite to face the oppression of the Israeli regime.
Naqavi added that the Israeli regime is declining; resistance groups are strengthening, and that in such a situation, the Muslims of the world must support their oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters.
International Quds Day rallies were held in more than 100 cities and towns in Pakistan, including Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, with large crowds and followers of different religions.
The people of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, also held placards in support of the Palestinians, condemned the Israeli regime and its supporters during the International Quds Day rally, and burned the American and Israeli flags.
Participants in International Quds Day rally in the Pakistani capital stressed that any normalization of relations with the Israeli regime would be considered a betrayal of the Islamic world.
On the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, by the initiative of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, people across the world show united support for the oppressed people of Palestine; it is for about 43 years that the people of the world have held rallies on the occasion of International Quds Day to protest against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and support the oppressed people of the country.
