The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Women’s Futsal Championship ended in Dushanbe with the victory of the Iran women’s national team.

As a result of the tournament, the Iranian women’s team won gold medals, achieving five victories and drawing only one match, gaining 16 points out of 18 possible. Silver medal went to Uzbekistan (13 points), and the team of Kyrgyz Republic (4 points) – bronze.

Vice-President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Dilshod Jurazoda and Secretary-General of the Central Asian Football Association Ulugbek Karimov took part in the closing ceremony, awarding the winners and prize-winners of the CAFA-2022 Futsal Championship among women’s national teams.

As a result of the tournament, the 'Fair Play' prize was awarded to the Iranian team; a special prize was awarded to Tajikistan. The competition's best scorer was Maftuna Shoyimova from Uzbekistan, with nine scored goals. And the tournament MVP award was given to the leader of the Iranian national team Fereshteh Karimi, who was recognized as the best player in four out of six matches of her team.

Head coach of Kyrgyz Republic, Oleg Gevlenko, said: "I want to express my gratitude to the CAFA administration for holding an excellent tournament, which was great and organized at a high level. Such matches are important for developing women’s futsal in our countries and regions. Speaking of our result in the tournament, I would say that is natural; we did everything we could do."

Head coach of Uzbekistan, Farrukh zakirov, also said: "In my opinion, we played well in the tournament, we showed our level. Moreover, I want to thank the organizers, such tournaments give an impetus to developing the game of futsal and thereby make competitiveness in the region. Huge appreciations to CAFA for holding such competitions."
