Tehran (IP) – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman considered the attack on Baghdad airport as an attempt to destabilize Iraq and condemned it.

Iran PressIran News: A military section of Baghdad airport, named Victoria Airbase, was targeted by rockets on Friday morning.

Referring to the attack on Baghdad airport, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, stated on Saturday that such suspicious actions create insecurity and unrest in Iraq, paves the way for ill-wishers, and affect government services for citizens.

He underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the establishment and maintenance of security, development, progress, integration of Iraq and supports the actions of the Iraqi government in stabilizing the country.

Despite the activation of the US SeaRam anti-aircraft system, there are reports that six out of the ten 107 mm rockets fired hit the base.

Some reports also indicate that three rockets were hit, and three more were left in the vehicle carrying the rocket launcher.
