Tehran (IP) - Head of the Special Education Organization of Iran says the organization aims to thoroughly fulfill the needs of the disabled.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking in a ceremony held on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Javad Hosseini said that in a humane society, the right to enjoy health care, marriage facilities, participation in political events, sports, employment, schooling, and education are the most fundamental ones that all human beings, including the disabled, should be entitled to.

"We try to utilize all intra-organizational, extra-organizational capacities for the quantitative and qualitative development of educational, upbringing and rehabilitation services to students with special needs," Hosseini said.

He said that efforts are being made for the disabled to produce their products, hold exhibitions in every province of the country, and then commercialize, brand, and expose their products to the public through the websites. 

The head of the Special Education Organization of Iran pointed to the measures that the Exceptional Education Organization has taken, one of which is to prepare grounds for the active participation of people with disabilities in policy-making and decision-making processes and to play their role in economic, social, cultural and political dimensions.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is an international occasion promoted by the United Nations since 1992 on Dec. 3. The occasion has been observed with varying degrees of success around the world.
