Tehran (IP) - Iran's deputy minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a claimant, reference, and credible country among all countries in the handicrafts and traditional arts.

Iran PressIran news: Pouya Mahmoudian added that Iran has more than 295 fields active in the handicrafts, 14 cities and villages with global registration in the handicrafts in the World Council of Handicrafts.

Referring to the art collection called 'Palace of Art Garden', she stated that the creation of this collection aims to prevent the obsolescence of handicrafts and traditional arts.

Mahmoudian highlighted: "By creating this collection, we will present handicrafts and traditional arts through dialogue, culture and informing the youth in the country, and in case of the eradication of the coronavirus, we will provide them to foreign tourists."

Tehran's mayor Pirouz Hanachi also said that with proper knowledge and education, unique Iranian architecture can be continued.

He stated: "Just as the architecture of the predecessors has been influenced by its era and the period before it, the architecture of the Islamic period has also been influenced by the period before it and its era, with the difference that in the Islamic era architecture has become more complete."

Following the ceremony, Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi, Tehran's mayor Pirouz Hanachi, and Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicraft Pouya Mahmoudian visited the handicrafts of the country's artists.
