Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani described the cowardly act of the United States to target Iran passenger plane in the year 1988 as a horrible and unacceptable crime, noting: " The United States should apologize and explain why it encouraged the perpetrator of this horrible crime."
Hassan Rouhani on Saturday, commemorating the anniversary of 3rd of July attack (cowardly attack of the American fleet on a passenger plane in the Persian Gulf in 1988), said: "290 people were killed in this incident and unfortunately since then the US government, not only has not formally apologized, but it has not taken any significant action, and just awarded the commander of this ship."
Iran Air Flight 655 was a scheduled passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai via Bandar Abbas that was shot down on 3 July 1988 by a missile fired from USS Vincennes. The aircraft, an Airbus A300, was destroyed and all 290 people on board were killed.
Referring to the COVID-19 situation in the country, President Rouhani said: "In recent weeks, the new Delta virus had entered the country from the south and southeast, and people must be careful about that."
He added: "The types of this virus are increasing. Coronavirus is not a virus that is specific to a region and a country, It is a pandemic."
