Tehran (IP) - The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations has warned of the consequences of the Israeli regime's actions and the presence of terrorists on Syrian soil.

Iran PressAmerica: Focusing on Syria at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the situation in the Middle East, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, Majid Takht-Ravanchi referred to the unstable situation in Syria and the continuation of the Israeli regime's aggressive actions against this country, and the illegal presence of some foreign forces, separatist and terrorist groups in parts of Syria, warning of the impact of this situation on regional security and stability, as well as international peace and security.

Regarding the Syrian reconstruction process, Takht-Ravanchi said: "Any connection between the Syrian reconstruction or the return of refugees and displaced persons, with the progress of the work of the Constitutional Committee or similar issues, will only prolong the suffering of the Syrian people."

Iran's permanent representative to the UN stressed that the Syrian crisis must be resolved peacefully and following the principles of the international law, respect for countries' sovereignty and territorial integrity, and non-interference in their internal or external affairs.
