Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the Canadian court had essentially no jurisdiction to hear a Ukrainian plane crash or possible flaws that took place outside of Canada's territory.

Iran Press/Iran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, in response to the reporters' question regarding the verdict issued by a court in Canada, stated: "The mentioned verdict has no basis and does not have any objective documents and reasons, and considering its publication on the internet, we ask those interested in such issues to study more about that."

Khatibzadeh added: "Everyone knows that the Canadian court has no jurisdiction to hear about this plane crash outside Canada's territory. However, given Canada's system of conduct in this regard, it can be expected that Canada will not follow the obvious and basic legal principles."
Khatibzadeh also noted: "Even the domestic law is against the legal principles and is, in fact, a violation of Canada's international obligations."

He also described the Canadian judge's behavior in following political orders and stereotypes as a disgrace to a country claiming the rule of law.

Khatibzadeh called the actions of the Canadian government unacceptable, including the recent court ruling in the country, and reminded the Canadian government that these politicized actions would only lead to the disruption of the legal order and the weakening of international law and would affect all countries, including Canada.

He added: "The Canadian government's political gestures have no interpretation other than trading with the grief of families and survivors of the tragedy and playing with their feelings for the short-term political purposes."

"Instead of pretending to be active in this unfortunate incident, we call on the government of Canada to show the behavior of a mature government and to act under internationally recognized rules and to respect principles," Khatibzadeh noted.
