A spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, issued a stern warning in response to statements made by Israel’s top brass, saying Iran will strike Israel in the event of 'Slightest Mistake'.

Iran Press/Iran News: "If we notice the slightest mistake on the part of the Zionist regime towards the regime of the Islamic republic, we will strike both the missile bases, which, according to them, are intended to strike Iran, and in the shortest time will level Haifa and Tel Aviv to the ground," Shekarchi said, speaking to state broadcaster IRIB.

He called the recent threats of the Israeli army chief of staff a psychological war and stressed: "They have not yet understood the power and authority of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic."

Shekarchi added: "The threats by the Israeli army chief of staff are for the purpose of psychological warfare, and these threats, if true, are really illusions."

Shekarchi made the comments a day after the chief of the general staff of the Israeli Army, Aviv Kohavi, said that a revival of the Iran nuclear deal 2015 would be unfavorable to Israel "from an operational and strategic point of view."

Kohavi said he instructed the Israeli military to draw up operational plans regarding Iran in addition to those already in place.

The issue of the US return to the Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) came to the spotlight after Joe Biden assumed the presidency. Last week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States would reciprocate Iran's resumed compliance with the nuclear deal, but would seek a broader agreement that also covers Tehran's missile program. Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif responded by ruling out any revisions to the original deal and insisting that Washington first remove sanctions.
