Iraqi Islamic Supreme council condemns US sanctions on Iran's Astan Quds Razavi

Baghdad (IP) - The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, condemned the recent US government sanctions against the administrative organization which manages the Imam Reza (PBUH) holy shrine calling it a blasphemy of Muslim sanctities.

Iran Press/Middle East: The head of the Islamic Supreme Council, Hamam Hamoudi, said in a statement issued by the office of the Supreme Council that the US action in boycotting companies affiliated with Iran's Astan Quds Razavi was considered as a "clear desecration of Muslim sanctities as well as that of their religious freedom that is recognized by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights."

He added that the actions of the Donald Trump administration have nothing to do with political ethics or international customs and that this behaviour reflects the level of the US regime's hostility and corrupt mentality and the collapse of its human values and the danger of its continued existence for world peace.

The crisis-stricken and failed Trump administration has not given up its usual failed policy in the last days of its life, and recently added 16 Iranian entities, including companies affiliated with Astan Quds Razavi, to its sanctions list, which has been faced with strong condemnation from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
