Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking in a press conference on the latest situation of the COVID-19 rapid test kits in Iran, Siamak Mirab Samiee noted that the main approaches of extending targeted and smart tests are increasing laboratories and quick test answer across the country.
The official added that the other approach is taking Quick-Response tools into practice in mobile and stable health clinics through test kits.
In the upcoming weeks, domestic manufactures' kits will be increased in order to depend more on Iranian youth capabilities, he stressed.
Samiee highlighted that the molecular test price has dropped because the indigenous diagnostic kits are increasing and the test result is given on the same day.
There are two types of diagnostic tests - molecular tests, such as RT-PCR tests, that detect the virus' genetic material, and antigen tests that detect specific proteins from the virus.
