Iran’s intelligence minister has revealed fresh details about a significant intelligence success, stating that the acquired documents by Iran pertain to Israeli nuclear facilities and other strategic files, which, he said, bolster Iran’s offensive capabilities.

Why it matters:
The revelation signals a serious breach in Israeli security and highlights Iran’s expanding intelligence capabilities. The documents, according to Iranian officials, could enhance Iran’s offensive power.

Key points:

  • The operation, carried out by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, was described as highly complex and multi-layered, involving infiltration, recruitment of persons, and extended access to critical data.
  • The documents reportedly include comprehensive files on the Israeli regime’s nuclear program, relations with the U.S. and Europe, and other strategic intelligence.
  • The minister emphasized that both the data and the methods of transfer are of significant importance, though the latter would remain classified for now.

What he's saying:
“The soldiers of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) in the Ministry of Intelligence succeeded in accessing a treasure trove of strategic, operational, and scientific information belonging to the Zionist regime, which has now been transferred into the country,” Khatib said in an interview with IRINN.
“The term ‘thousands of documents’ does not fully capture the scale of this intelligence event.”
“Complete nuclear files were obtained, along with documents related to [Israel’s] connections with the U.S., Europe, and other countries, as well as intelligence that strengthens Iran’s offensive capabilities.”
“The methods of transfer are as important as the content itself and will remain as secret.”
