Hamas Representative in Iran, condemned the U.S. Congress’ $8.8 billion aid package to Israel as an endorsement of violence against Palestinian children.

Why it matters:

With escalating conflict in Gaza, international backing for Israel’s military actions deepens humanitarian crises and complicates efforts for peace. It has been over 90 days without even a drop of water reaching Gaza.

What he’s saying:

Khaled Qaddoumi stated: “Not only Hamas but the entire world acknowledges that humanity requires an end to the fire in Gaza.”

Qaddoumi criticized the initial 42-day ceasefire as lacking guarantees, asserting, “If the agreement has no assurances, it is meaningless.”Qaddoumi reassured: “the resistance’s situation remains strong; we have no military weaknesses and will continue on the path of our martyrs.”

He concluded by framing the conflict as a final battle between “right and falsehood,” describing Israel’s position as “so weak that killing and bloodshed remain its only options.”

The big picture:

Qaddoumi made the remarks at a specialized session titled “Current Developments in Gaza and the Future of Resistance” held in Tehran on Sunday evening. Heavy bombardment across is going on Gaza, including airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery shelling. Meanwhile the Israerli blockade on the Strip has caused the Gazans, especially children, grappling with starvation.
