In a phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, the Iranian Foreign Minister highlighted that such a food and medicine blockade on Gaza is unprecedented.

Why it matters:

Since the beginning of March 2025, no truck of food, medicine, and fuel has reached Gaza, which has led to a humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

Over the past 60 days, food supplies in the Gaza Strip have been depleted, and basic medicines and medical equipment have become scarce in the region.

The big picture:

Despite the reached ceasefire agreement in Gaza in January 2025, it collapsed after the Israeli regime resumed attacks on Gaza in March.

Since the beginning of the devastating war on October 7, 2023, more than 51,000 Palestinians have been martyred and 117,000 Palestinians injured in the Palestinian city. Furthermore, all the vital infrastructure has been ruined, which itself has led to famine and many diseases in the strip.

What they're saying:

The Egyptian FM Badr Abdelatty informed the Iranian Foreign Minister on Egypt's continued efforts to stop the crimes of the Zionist Regime in the occupied Palestine and assisting the homeless people of Gaza.

Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi emphasized the need to confront the Zionist regime's policy of forcibly relocating the people of Gaza.

He also expressed concern over the international community's indifference to these crimes.
