Minsk (IP)- Iran's Ambassador to Belarus met with Mufti of the Muslims of Belarus Abu Bakr Shabanovich, on Friday, October 30, to discuss issues related to the Islamic world.

Iran PressEurope: The two sides, emphasizing Shia and Sunnis' unity, condemned insulting the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in France.

Saeed Yari pointed to the good relations between the Shia and the Sunni brothers in Iran and said that strengthening the solidarity of the Islamic world is the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Iranian ambassador called the French authorities' wrongdoing under the pretext of freedom of speech, insulting the Prophet (PBUH), a baseless issue, and said that the French authorities should be held accountable for these stances.

Referring to Palestine as the most important issue in the Islamic world, the Iranian ambassador strongly condemned the normalization of relations between some Islamic countries and the Zionist regime.

The Mufti of the Muslims of Belarus, emphasizing the unity between Shias and Sunnis, called Islam a religion of rationality and kindness and condemned the French official's statements.
