Tehran (IP) - The speaker of the Iranian parliament expressed that the lifting of the arms embargo on Iran this morning was a significant setback for the isolated US government and president, who faced a global backlash to activate the snapback mechanism.

Iran Press/Iran news: Today on the open session of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that US failure must be used to deter US pressure on Iran through buying and selling weapons.

Regarding the economic condition, Qalibaf noted that there must be a precise movement behind the Leader of the revolution and alongside the people, and efforts must be made to pay more attention to the living conditions of the people.

"The official who pays attention to the people's livelihood does not allow the enemy's greed for more sanctions to come to fruition," he added.

On 18 October, the Iranian Foreign Ministry also released a statement on termination of UNSC Security arms restrictions and travel ban, saying the definitive and unconditional termination of arms restrictions and travel bans requires no new resolution.
