In a meeting with Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani and his accompanying delegation, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani once again expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of the late president martyred Ebrahim Raisi, and his companions.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, in this meeting, emphasized: "Iraq continues to  strengthen relations with Iran and develope the foundations of constructive cooperation between the two sides."

In this meeting, the two sides discussed the regional and international issues, the aggression of the Zionist regime in Gaza and the painful human casualties caused by the Zionist occupiers against the Palestinian people; meanwhile, they urged the need for a serious effort by the international community to stop the war in Gaza and prevent the spead of the conflict into the region.

The two sides emphasized the follow-up of the joint committees of the two countries to hold meetings and implement the understandings signed between the two sides in the areas of energy, security, and transportation training.

While appreciating Iraq for sympathizing with Iran following the recent incident, Bagheri praised the country's pivotal role in the region and its efforts to strengthen stability by bringing countries' views closer, and said Iran supports Iraq's efforts to implement the Iraq Development Road project.

In last year's meeting, Bagheri and Al-Sudani discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran, the strategies for its development in line with common interests in all cases, and the importance of using the atmosphere of political stability and convergence in the region to realize communication between the countries in political and economic fields.
