FM Zarif congratulates Jewish New Year

Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated the Jewish compatriots and Jews around the world on the arrival of the Jewish New Year.

Iran Press/Iran News: Zarif stated in a Twitter message:"On the occasion of the New Year, I wish Iranian—and indeed all—Jews happiness, and most of all, good health. The children of Adam, Abraham and Moses are siblings who deserve to live in a real democratic peace—not business deal. Our proposal has been #Referendum."

Over 9,000 Jews currently live in Iran, mostly in the cities of Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz.  Under the Iranian constitution, the country’s Jews are represented in the parliament.
