Tehran (IP) - The Majlis Speaker announced Tehran's full readiness to expand parliamentary cooperation with Russia.

Iran Press/Iran News: Referring to the two countries' strategic agreements on expanding comprehensive cooperation, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said on Saturday in a meeting with Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs in Tehran, "The two countries have many common opportunities to expand relations which can be used for the benefit of two nations."

Qalibaf stressed the need for the full realization of Tehran-Moscow strategic cooperation and expressed hope that Iran-Russia relations would be strengthened in other areas as well as security cooperation.

For his part, Leonid Slutsky said that the parliaments of Iran and Russia can help in formulating national projects and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs also stressed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the Caspian Sea region, adding, "Strengthening joint cooperation with Iran is seriously emphasized by the President of Russia." 101
