Tehran (IP)- Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri on Wednesday during a meeting with Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran Rahim Hayat Qureshi, stated that Iran's firm approach is to prevent any border security measures against Pakistan and expects that same procedure from Pakistan's side.

Iran Press/Asia: "Security, peace, friendship, and tranquility on the common borders of the two countries are necessary for the development of Tehran-Islam economic cooperation."Jahangiri highlighted.

Jahangiri stressed that bilateral relations and the level of trade and economic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan should be improved, adding that Iran is ready to expand its cooperation with Pakistan in all fields, especially in the field of energy.

Recalling regional issues, the Zionist regime's atrocities against the oppressed people of Palestine, and the issues of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon, the Vice President stressed the need to expand Tehran-Islamabad cooperation to fight terrorist groups.

"The solution to the region's problems is the non-intervention of powers outside the region," Jagangiri stressed.

Pakistan's ambassador to Iran Rahim Hayat Qureshi, referring to the historical, religious, and cultural commonalities of the two countries, said: "Tehran and Islamabad have always supported each other in international forums."

Qureshi thanked the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Government of Iran for their clear and decisive positions on the Palestinian cause saying that Iran has always taken strong positions on various issues, especially those related to Muslims and the Muslim Ummah.

Referring to the 950-kilometer common border between the two countries, the ambassador said: "By tightening border surveillance, both human and drug trafficking will be prevented and border security will be improved."
