Tehran (IP) - The Secretary-General of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mehdi Mohammad Nabi stated that the suspension of the Football Federation has been canceled.

Iran Press/Iran news: "According to the recent letter of FIFA, we have observed the considered rules by removing the Minister of Sports from the assembly and maintaining the nature of statute based on our country's constitution, FIFA's desired reforms have been made and will be sent to this organization in a few hours," The Secretary-General of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) Mehdi Mohammad Nabi stated.

Nabi earlier in an interview about the latest measures and reforms in the statute of the Football Federation, said that "the rules considered by FIFA have been observed and there will be no problem in this matter."

He stated that "When the statute is returned from FIFA, it will be presented to the assembly within the next month, and if approved, it will be sent back to FIFA, in which FIFA has a consultative role."

FIFA has threatened the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) with suspension if it does not comply with its rules.

The international governing body of football rejected the amended statutes sent by the FFIRI last month and gave the football body a deadline of June 5 to comply or face suspension.
