Russia: Unilateral sanctions hampers fight against Coronavirus

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya called for the lifting of all sanctions outside the UN amid coronavirus pandemic.

Iran PressAmerica: Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, during a closed meeting of the Security Council on the coronavirus, called for a pandemic to lift all unilateral and multilateral sanctions against developing countries. 

“We urge everyone to lift multilateral or unilateral coercive measures and sanctions imposed bypassing the UN. We should not help someone with one hand, and harm with the other, ”the Russian Permanent Representative emphasized.

Nebenzya noted that in the face of the difficult challenges of the pandemic, "the time has come for solidarity not determined by any political agenda and preferences."

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev called for clearing relations of sanctions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
