The head of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Bureau said Friday that some 27,000 foreign terrorists are in Syria and Iraq.

Iran PressMiddle East: Vladimir Voronkov stated that the international community must be alert and united in its fight against the terrorist groups.

Voronkov also warned that the remaining elements of the ISIL terrorist group have been re-establishing themselves over the past year in-Syria and Iraq.

Syrian and Iraqi armies have recently been able to close the case of the ISIS terrorist group in the two countries, with the help of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russian support.
