A funeral for the martyrs of the Resistance Front led by Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was held on Saturday in different cities of Iraq.

Iran Press/Iran News: A funeral for the martyrs of the Resistance Front led by Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) was held on Saturday (from morning to night) with a large crowd of Iraqi people in the cities of Kadhimiya, Baghdad, Najaf, and Karbala.

The widespread presence of Iraqi people at the funeral of the martyrs showed unity and solidarity between the two nations of Iran and Iraq.

After the funeral procession of martyrs in various cities of Iraq, this ceremony is now being held in Ahvaz, southwestern Iran. 

Thousands of people are participating in the funeral procession of the martyred Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and his companions in the southern city of Ahvaz on Sunday morning.

After Ahvaz, this ceremony is going to be held first in Mashhad, northeast of Iran, and then in Tehran on Monday.

Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
